Hecho en Mexico

Hecho en Mexico took over the old Feast of Merit corner and kept the best part: the rooftop. Upstairs it bills itself as the coolest rooftop bar in the area, pouring margaritas and sangria over the Swan Street rooftops; downstairs it's street-style Mexican from one of Australia's biggest Mexican restaurant families, a group that started in 2013 and now runs more than twenty venues.

Everything that matters is made in house daily: the salsas, the guacamole, the marinades. The vegan side of the menu is genuinely strong, with jackfruit tacos and vegan nachos rather than afterthoughts, and the bottomless brunch and happy hour deals keep the room busy. A fun detail for internet archaeologists: their Facebook page still carries the FeastofMerit handle it inherited with the building.
