T&L is the kind of place locals hesitate to tell you about, in case the queue gets longer. A family-run Vietnamese bakery-cafe on the Cremorne side of the street, it turns out fresh bread, pastries and Vietnamese street food alongside decent coffee, but the reason it holds a near-perfect Google rating is the banh mi.
The order is the crispy-skin pork belly roll: proper crackling, fresh bread baked on site, all the herbs and pickle a banh mi deserves, for a price that embarrasses most of the strip. On a street increasingly full of fit-outs and wine lists, T&L is the honest counterweight, and one of Swan Street's genuinely great cheap eats.
