Odeon Richmond

For decades, live music on Swan Street meant one thing: the Corner. Since June 2024 the street has a second stage. Odeon Richmond comes from Eleni Tzaros and Bruce Butler, who between them carry some six decades of Melbourne music industry history, and takes its name and inspiration from the Odeon in Athens.

The room is fully soundproofed and deliberately flexible, with projection, event spaces and a house bar, so a week's programming can swing from indie and acoustic sets to traditional Greek music nights. It opened with Jodi Phillis of The Clouds headlining, which tells you the founders' address book is real. One to watch as its calendar fills out.
