Yo-Chi needs little introduction to anyone under thirty in Melbourne: the cult self-serve frozen yoghurt brand that started in Balaclava in 2012 and grew into a national ritual. The Swan Street store runs the classic format, froyo and acai taps, a sprawling toppings bar, and a pay-by-weight till that rewards restraint nobody actually shows.
Dairy-free and gluten-free probiotic options mean almost everyone can build a cup, and its late hours make it the street's default dessert stop after dinner at the surrounding restaurants. The brand has since expanded as far as Singapore, but a Swan Street Yo-Chi run remains a local institution.
